Robert Ackerman, Registered Vascular Technologist
Born and raised in Chicago, Rob settled in Dallas back in 2007, where he lives with his wife of nearly 20 years, his two teenage boys and his chihuahua. He has been working in healthcare for over 20 years, first as a licensed doctor of chiropractic before eventually making the switchover to sonography. “Working in a variety of clinical settings in my career has given me a unique perspective on the different types of patients you see, and how my interactions with them were often dictated by those settings. You really have to tune in to each patient as an individual.”
Starting in 2013, Rob focused his attention to exclusively vascular ultrasound where he worked along side vascular surgeons in multiple clinics around DFW. It was during this time when he developed his expertise in various areas within vascular ultrasound, particularly in the diagnosis and treatment of varicose vein disease. Rob has assisted in thousands of venous procedures, and he has trained countless other ultrasound techs to do the same. “I believe that it is just as important to recognize when a patient is not a suitable candidate for treatment as well as when they are. Integrity and honesty must come first.”
In his spare time, Rob enjoys traveling, dining, professional sports (I bleed Cubbie Blue),gathering with friends and has occasionally been spotted playing pickleball. More than anything, he enjoys watching his son, a budding small forward, play basketball for JJ Pearce High School - Go Mustangs!
